An October 2021 Finish!!! YEAH!!!

Well life is nothing but very interesting...LOL!!  I finished this last month and haven't had a chance to post it until now.  Another of my string quilts that I started over a year ago and only had completed 2 blocks for it.  Finally found the time to finish up the other 28 blocks this past month and put it together.  It is nice and comfy!  It is approximately 60" wide by 72" long.  Just about the right size for sitting in a comfy chair all wrapped up and watching the game!

I am hoping to finish up my daughter's double wedding ring quilt (all hand made) this month, BUT.....Time is getting away from me! If I get it finished before the end of the year I will make sure to post it on the blog!  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I have been busy here creating new quilts.  I had enough 12.5 inch blocks to create another quilt throw or I call it a throw.  It is 62.5" x 75".  Some of it is hand quilted and some of it is not.  I had started hand quilting these blocks several years ago and couldn't figure out what to do with them.  And then it came to me....Why not put them into a sampler quilt?  Hmmm!  Great idea!  So I set them together with a black sashing.  I love the end result.

Some of these blocks you might see in other quilts as I made to many for that particular quilt.  "Go Figure!!"  Some of the blocks are just string pieced as I have found that I love string piecing.  If anyone is interested in a quilt.  This quilt I will sell for $150 if you are interested.  I have several quilts that I will be selling in the future.  Please check back here at Capiere' Creations for updates.

It has been a while since I posted but have been really busy around the home front.  I wanted to take some time today to put together what I have finished this last couple of months.

Recently I was asked by my sister to make her sister-in-law a quilt because she was going through chemo.  I had already started working on a string quilt and thought that she would like it.  So I finished it up and put it together.  I hand quilted it.

She absolutely loves it.  She used it in the hospital recently and got tons of compliments on it.  Here is the quilt.  I hope you all enjoy it.  I know I had tons of fun making it.

I finished it back in April.  Not a single thing was purchased excepted the black for the binding.  I love it and I know she loves it too!

January 2021

So after moving back to Florida in November of 2020 and getting settled into my new home I decided that I needed to get some sewing time in.  Thank goodness I can now sew.  I thought that it might never happen again.  All of the stuff from moving was everywhere.  Here are just a few of the things I have finished over the last several weeks.

My new placemats....Made out of all of those pairs of jeans I had kept in my stash forever...Love them...They are now residing on the kitchen table. All of them are made from scraps.  I took a peanut butter jar lid and drew out the circles.  Then took my 2 1/2" square and drew squares on each individual circle.  Then I went to my 2 1/2" squares bag and put it together.  I hope you like them.  I do.

August 2020

I have been busy trying to figure out what to work on this year.  So many ideas running around in my head.  I bet you I have started working on 20 quilts...But this one had been languishing in the quilts to be finished pile for about 2 years.  I started working on it every couple days until I FINALLY got it finished.  Just finished it yesterday.  I hope you like it.  It is 6 1/2" bow tie blocks and I made it all by hand.  I guess that's why it took me about 2 years to get finished...LOL!!  I also quilted it in the "Quilt as you go" method.  That is probably why it took so long....I hate working on the backs of the quilt as you go quilts once they get so big.

My camera is not working correctly so I took this picture with my phone.  I hope it looks all right...This is an all scrap quilt...Scrap white and scrap colors.  I just kept cutting out blocks until I had enough....

Here is what I have been working on for the last few months.  It is made QAYG (Quilt as You Go) and is on our bed now.  Love it.
I started this back in September of 2018.  So I guess it took me longer than I thought it did.  Just finished it last week.  I call it "Chinese Coins and 4 patches".

I have been working on several quilt tops recently.  Here are a few pictures of what I have been up to.  This pattern is a rail fence and I have decided to make the rail 3 1/2" x 1 1/2".  What was I thinking when I started this.  Crazy I know but it is getting done.

And here is another project I have started.  It is a 15 1/2" square which makes into this beautiful creation.

And after all of that I sit down in my recliner and start working on these.  They are English Paper Pieced or EPP for short.  This one is for my daughter whenever I manage to get it finished.  This one is going to take a while.
So that is what I have been up to.
